FAQs / Help

What age range is Meridian Mayhem suitable for

Meridian Mayhem is designed for children of a wide range of ages, with different play areas and features to suit different stages of development.

From little explorers building their confidence through play to older children looking for adventure, climbing and active challenges, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Our toddler area is specifically designed for children aged 5 and under, while our main play frame is suitable for more adventurous play.

Do I need to book in advance

We recommend booking online in advance to guarantee your space, particularly during weekends, school holidays and other busy periods.

Walk-in visits are welcome but are subject to availability and the centre’s maximum capacity.

How long is a soft play session

Your booking provides a minimum of 90 minutes of play.

During quieter periods, you may be able to stay for longer. However, when the centre reaches capacity, we will announce the relevant wristband colour and ask those customers whose session has ended to leave the play area.

Please listen for announcements during your visit.

Do children have to wear socks

Yes. Everyone entering the play frames, including children and adults, must wear socks at all times.

This is for hygiene, safety and comfort. Socks help reduce direct skin contact with shared play surfaces and can provide protection from minor friction burns and abrasions while using slides, climbing equipment and padded play features.

Bare feet are not permitted within the play structures.

Can adults enter the play equipment

Adults should only enter where necessary to supervise or support their child but should avoid using equipment designed specifically for children’s play.

Adults entering any play structure must also wear socks and follow the same play rules as children.

Does my child need to be supervised

Yes. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult throughout their visit.

Parents and carers remain responsible for the behaviour, safety and supervision of children in their care at all times. Meridian Mayhem team members are present to operate the facility safely but do not provide childcare or individual supervision.

How many adults can attend with a child

One accompanying adult is admitted free of charge with the booking. The first adult does not need to book. Any additional adults will need to purchase an adult ticket for £2.00.

Can I leave and return during my visit

Unfortunately, re-entry is not permitted.

If you choose to leave the centre during your visit, you will need to purchase a new ticket to return, subject to availability.

Please ensure you bring everything you need with you before entering.

What happens if I am late

We recommend arriving in good time for your booked session.

During busy periods or when the centre reaches capacity, your session will still be calculated from the original booked start time. Unfortunately, arriving late will not extend your guaranteed 90-minute session.

What should my child wear

We recommend comfortable clothing suitable for active play. Long trousers or leggings and long sleeves are recommended, particularly when using slides.

Jewellery, badges, belts with large buckles and other sharp or potentially hazardous items should be removed before entering the play frames.

Socks must be worn at all times.

Is food and drink allowed downstairs

Food and drink may be consumed at the designated tables downstairs. For safety and hygiene reasons, food and drinks must not be taken into the soft play frame or play areas. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that children in their care follow this rule at all times.

Are there height or age restrictions

There are no general age or height restrictions for the main play frame; however, parents and carers should ensure that children only use equipment suitable for their age, size, confidence and ability.

Our toddler play area is designed for children aged 5 and under. Children over the age of 5 should not use this area unless they are accompanying and supporting a younger child.

What facilities are available for babies

We have a dedicated baby play area within our toddler zone.

Baby-changing facilities are available within the accessible changing facilities.

We do not currently have dedicated buggy storage. Buggies can be kept with you in the designated customer seating areas, provided they do not obstruct walkways, emergency exits or access routes.

Is there a lift to access the café

There is no lift access to the first-floor café.

If you require assistance or cannot access the first floor, please speak to a member of our team. We will do our best to support you and discuss the available options.

Do you offer SEND sessions

Yes. We offer dedicated SEND sessions as part of our programme.

These sessions have reduced capacity and no background music to provide a calmer play environment.

A carer accompanying a child attending a SEND session can enter free of charge.

If you would like to discuss any individual accessibility or support requirements before visiting, please contact our team.

Can I book a birthday party

Absolutely! We offer four different party options, with full details available on our Parties page.

Parties can be booked online or directly with our team.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance due no later than 14 days before the party date.

Please read our Party Terms and Conditions before booking.

Can I bring a birthday cake or decorations

Birthday cakes and decorations may be permitted as part of selected party packages.

Please check the details of your chosen package and our Party Terms and Conditions before your visit, as restrictions may apply to certain decorations, candles, confetti and items attached to walls or furniture.

What happens if my child becomes unwell before our visit

If your child becomes unwell and is unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible.

We can transfer your booking to an alternative date free of charge, subject to availability.

Children who are unwell or have symptoms of an infectious illness must not attend the indoor play centre. This includes sickness, diarrhoea or other contagious illnesses. Please wait until the child has fully recovered before visiting.

Exceptions can be made for baby food and specific dietary, medical or disability-related requirements. If you are unsure, please contact us before your visit and our team will be happy to help.

Can we bring a buggy or pushchair?

Yes. We do have a small buggy station where buggies can be stored. Buggies and pushchairs may also be brought into the customer seating areas, but they must not block walkways, emergency exits or access routes.

Please follow any instructions given by the team during busy periods. Please note Meridian Mayhem cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings.

What if my child has a food allergy

Please speak to a member of our team before ordering food or drink if you or your child has a food allergy or intolerance.

Our team can provide available allergen information and help you make an informed choice. We cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your booked session, we will contact you using the details provided at the time of booking.

You will be offered the appropriate options available under our booking terms, which may include transferring your booking to an alternative date or receiving a refund.

Can I take photographs or videos

You are welcome to take photographs and videos of your own children for personal use.

Please be mindful of the privacy of other children and families and avoid deliberately photographing or filming anyone outside your own group without their permission.

Commercial photography and filming require prior approval from management.

What behaviour is expected at Meridian Mayhem

We want Meridian Mayhem to be a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Children and adults are expected to treat other visitors and our team members with respect. Bullying, aggressive behaviour, abusive language, deliberate misuse of equipment or behaviour that places others at risk will not be tolerated.

Customers may be asked to leave the centre where behaviour is unsafe, abusive or disruptive. Refunds will not normally be provided in these circumstances.

What happens if my child is injured

Please report all accidents and injuries to a member of our team immediately, regardless of how minor they may appear.

Our team will provide appropriate assistance and follow the centre’s accident and incident procedures.

What should I do if I lose my child

If you become separated from your child during your visit, please notify a member of the Meridian Mayhem team immediately. Our team will follow our lost child procedure and assist in locating your child as quickly as possible.

Please do not leave the centre to search outside without informing a member of staff, as this could delay our response. We also recommend showing younger children where our team members are located and encouraging them to approach a uniformed member of staff if they become separated from you.

Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their children throughout their visit.

Can we bring a buggy or pushchair

Yes. Buggies and pushchairs may be brought into the customer seating areas, but they must not block walkways, emergency exits or access routes.

Please follow any instructions given by the team during busy periods.

Is parking available

Please check the venue information section of our website before travelling for the latest information about parking and accessible parking arrangements.

We recommend allowing additional time for parking during weekends, school holidays and other busy periods.

What happens to lost property

If you lose an item during your visit, please speak to a member of the team or contact us as soon as possible.

Any items found will be handled in line with our lost property procedure. We recommend clearly labelling children’s belongings where possible.

Meridian Mayhem cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings.

Are lockers available

Please keep personal belongings with you.

Meridian Mayhem cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings that are lost, stolen or damaged during your visit.
